Outline
In order to conserve the natural environment, it is necessary to conduct scientific surveys on-site, analyze the results, and take necessary measures. However, due to the cost and lack of researchers in developing countries, such studies are not being conducted sufficiently.
Under these circumstances, the Nagao Natural Environment Foundation provides "Research Grant Programme" and "Publication Programme" to local researchers. In addition, the CGF Programme (NEF Commemorative Grant Fund for Capacity Building of Young Scientists) subsidizes research on natural environment conservation by young local researchers and exchange students in Japan. The Nagao Wetland Fund supports the activities of the Ramsar Convention. Through these subsidy activities, we aim to develop human resources engaged in the protection and conservation of the natural environment in the Asia-Pacific region, and to protect and conserve the natural environment remaining in developing countries.
